Parents ~
Thankfully,
we are moving ever closer to spring. We
will be busy in the days ahead, so that will help the time pass quickly! March 4 – 9 we celebrate Lutheran School Week
as we give thanks for our school and the blessing of Christian Education. Tuesday is “silly or miss-matched sock day”
and Thursday is Blue & Gold Day!
Preschoolers may participate if they choose.
Highlights
for March are as follows:
Thursday,
March 1 – Three year old Parent-Teacher Conferences
Tuesday, March 6 – Wind Nothing special is needed.
Thursday,
March 8 – Lions and Lambs We will talk about the “lion and lamb” aspect of
weather. Nothing special is needed.
Sunday,
March 11 – Dad’s Day Event This is a special time for the children to
bring dad, grandpa or a favorite uncle to school with them for an afternoon of
fun! They will have a chance to play, do
some special activities and enjoy a snack together. The morning group will meet
from 12:30 – 2:00 PM with the afternoon class meeting from 2:30 – 4:00 PM. Our theme will be “Preschool Circus!” Please RSVP to austinl@ourshepherd.net as soon as
possible.
Tuesday, March 13 – No Classes due to Dad’s Day on the 11th.
Thursday,
March 15 – Purple Day
Please have your child wear purple (if they have it) and bring in a purple show
and tell.
Tuesday,
March 20 – Grocery Store Day We will turn our classroom into a grocery
store for the day! If you have a play
cash register and/or grocery carts that you would be willing to share with us
for the day, please label them with your child’s name. We will also need a good supply of paper
grocery bags.
Thursday,
March 22 – Restaurant Day We will set up our housekeeping area as a
restaurant complete with wait staff, cooks, and cashiers and will assemble
individual pizzas for snack time. A
sign-up sheet will be available outside the classroom door on Tuesday if you
are able to contribute needed supplies for this.
Tuesday, March 27 – Bunny Day! Your child is invited to bring his or her
favorite stuffed bunny for Show and Tell.
Thursday, March 29 – Easter Eggs A sign-up sheet will be available earlier in the
week requesting hard-boiled eggs. This
will be our last day of class before our Spring break. School will resume for the Threes on
Thursday, April 12.
God’s
Blessings to all of you during this season of Lent. May this be a time for all of us to meditate
on the suffering that Christ endured on our behalf and also an opportunity to
reflect upon our own Baptism and what it means to live as a child of God.
