Important Dates for the New School Year

• Sunday, August 28 Opening Worship Service 11:00 at Our Shepherd Church followed by the Back to School BBQ 12:30 at the school.  I hope to meet many of you there!  The classroom will be open for a “sneak preview” as well!

• Wednesday, September 7 Parent Orientation takes place at 6:30 PM in the school library.  This adult only meeting is where you will get all the pertinent information you need to help make this a successful school year, with time to ask questions and meet the other parents. Please make every effort for at least one parent from your family to attend.

• Thursday, September 8 You and your child are invited to come to the classroom for a twenty-minute visit.  Your time to visit is noted on an enclosed letter to your child.  If for some reason that time does not work for you, please email me at austinl@ourshepherd.net or call me at home 248-589-3815 to make other arrangements.  During your visit, we will do some activities that will help your child gain a sense of belonging in our class.  Your child will explore the room and find his/her mailbox as well as decorate a tote bag, which the school will provide.  I would like your child to use this bag each day for transporting projects, papers and library books.  If you have already purchased a bag elsewhere, please feel free to use that one for carrying snow pants and winter gear, as that needs to be separate from your child’s class work anyway. 

• Tuesday, September 13 First day of Three Year Old preschool!
